I want to encourage you to support this cause! As a young man in my tweens and early teens, I suffered from seizures (though not caused by epilepsy) know the fear and frustration that is caused by it. For almost 5 years, I had to take medication every day and had to have blood drawn monthly. I’m also a big supporter of the Accelerated Reader (AR) program. I want you to meet my friend Renn.
Renn is 6 1/2 years old and has Epilepsy.
He gets seizures every day. They tried all kids of medications that didn’t work. Renn has had all kinds of tests and procedures done and they didn’t work.
On October 28th the doctors are going to put some kind of grid in his brain to figure out what part of his brain is doing it and then they are going to take that part of his brain out. They may have to take a whole section out.
